Peripheral Embolization System
Designed for Immediate and Long-Term Mechanical Occlusion

The Penumbra Peripheral Embolization System relies on mechanical occlusions designed for immediate and long-term occlusions. The Penumbra Embolization System consists of large volume platinum-based bare metal coils designed for delivery through low profile and high-flow microcatheters for arterial and venous embolization within the peripheral vasculature.

Consisting of Ruby® Coil, POD®, Packing Coil, LANTERN® High-flow Microcatheter, and Low Profile (LP) System, this system works in conjunction to help facilitate simplified and efficient embolization procedures.

Penumbra coilsa are designed to be thicker and softer to densely pack, creating a mechanical occlusion with the potential for less reliance on thrombus formation. Penumbra coils have shown low rates of recanalization of 2.2%1
