Dillon Gedeon | Equipment Maintenance Technician III | Joined Penumbra in 2020 | Roseville, CA

Q. What is your current role at Penumbra?

I work as an Equipment Maintenance Technician, supporting equipment and systems across our manufacturing operations. In addition to troubleshooting complex equipment issues, supporting preventive maintenance and equipment qualifications, I help coordinate daily maintenance priorities, and provide technical guidance to our team. I also support equipment installations, production line moves, and improvement projects all while implementing solutions to maximize production efficiency.

Q. What aspects of your job do you enjoy most?

What I enjoy most about my job is the challenge of troubleshooting complex equipment and breaking problems down until I can identify the root cause. There’s a great sense of accomplishment in solving a difficult issue, learning something new in the process, and working to keep the equipment working at full capacity.

Q. Describe yourself at age 10. What career aspirations did you have at that age?

At age 10, my dream was to one day become a firefighter. As I grew older, I found that I really enjoyed working with my hands, troubleshooting problems, and figuring out how things worked. That interest eventually developed into a passion for repairing equipment and led me to the career I have today.

Q. Describe a travel adventure that you’ll never forget.

One travel adventure I’ll never forget was spending a month exploring the Philippines with my fiancée. We had the opportunity to travel throughout the country, visit different islands, and experience everything from beautiful beaches and incredible scenery to amazing food and local culture. What made the trip especially meaningful was being able to experience it all together, meet new people, and spend time with family along the way. It was truly the adventure of a lifetime and gave us countless memories and experiences that we’ll always cherish.

Q. What is your personal philosophy?

My personal philosophy is that we are better when we grow together. I believe in challenging, supporting, and learning from one another. Everyone has something to teach and something to learn, and we become stronger by helping those around us grow and succeed.

Q. What would people be surprised to learn about you?

People might be surprised to learn that, in my free time, I work with the local Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue team. I’ve been with the team for about four years and love being able to combine my passion for the outdoors with the opportunity to serve my community and help those in need.

Q. What professional development work have you pursued recently? How has it helped you do your work?

Recently, I’ve taken additional training in advanced electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and electrical safety. It has helped me strengthen my technical skills and take a more systematic approach to troubleshooting. It has also given me the opportunity to bring what I’ve learned back to our maintenance team and pass that knowledge along to others.
