Q. What is your current role at Penumbra?
I lead Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance for Penumbra across Latin America. In simple terms, my role is to make sure our products are approved and ready for sale in each country, while keeping the company aligned with all local regulatory requirements. It’s about enabling access to innovation while maintaining compliance and quality standards across the region.
Q. What drew you to Penumbra?
The culture and the people first. From the beginning, I could see how committed Penumbra is to meaningful innovation. I’m still impressed by how consistently the company brings technologies that truly make a difference for patients and healthcare professionals. That sense of purpose is what motivated me to join.
Q. What aspects of your job do you enjoy most?
I really enjoy the dynamic environment — there is always something new happening, especially with new products entering the region. I also value the team atmosphere. Working with smart, collaborative, and positive people makes everyday challenges much more rewarding.
Q. If you did not pursue your current career, what do you see yourself doing professionally?
I’ve always been interested in psychoanalysis and human behavior, so I could see myself working as a therapist.
Q. Describe yourself at age 10. What career aspirations did you have at that age?
At 10 years old, I was the kid who loved watching nature and science documentaries. I was fascinated by biology and how the world works. At the same time, I also imagined becoming a lawyer because I enjoyed reading, writing, and building arguments.
Q. Describe a travel adventure that you’ll never forget.
My first trip to Europe was unforgettable — especially exploring Amsterdam. I’ve been back two more times, and each visit felt like a new adventure just walking through the city and discovering something different.
Q. What is your personal philosophy?
I’m naturally optimistic. I believe in good thoughts, good actions, and good intentions. What you put into life tends to come back to you.
