Penumbra Welcomed Leading Multi-Disciplinary Experts to its Headquarters for the Inaugural Physician Leaders Program
In July 2025, Penumbra welcomed participants of the inaugural Physician Leaders Program to its headquarters in Alameda, California for a dynamic day of connection, learning, and innovation. During the visit, multi-disciplinary physician leaders engaged in meaningful discussions around ongoing and upcoming clinical trials, technological advancements, and more.
The program was led by an all-star group of distinguished physicians including:
- Dr. Vivian L. Bishay, MD, interventional radiologist at Mount Sinai, in New York
- Dr. Ruth L. Bush, MD, JD, MPH, FACS, vascular surgeon at The University of Texas Medical Branch John Sealy School of Medicine
- Dr. Venita Chandra, MD, vascular surgeon at Stanford Health Care
- Dr. Dejah R. Judelson, MD, vascular surgeon at UMass Memorial Health
- Dr. Leigh Ann O’Banion, MD, vascular surgeon at UCSF, Fresno
- Dr. Kathleen Ozsvath, MD, vascular surgeon at St. Peters Health Partners in Albany, NY
- Dr. Rachel Rosovsky, MD, MPH, hematologist at Massachusetts General Hospital
- Dr. Gloria Salazar, MD, FSIR, radiologist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

One of the highlights for the physician leaders was a behind-the-scenes guided tour of Penumbra’s advanced production operations. Surprised that Penumbra’s medical devices are made by hand, several participants shared that the insights they gained from the program will positively impact their patients back home.
