Leg Attack - Oxford Story

Mr Carpenter has always liked walking. Then he had a leg attack. His arteries were blocked from the knee down to his foot, and he didn’t realise until the danger was over that he could have lost his leg. Dr Howard and his team at Oxford University Hospitals perform mechanical thrombectomies to save legs. The procedure removes blood clots by inserting a thin catheter into the blood stream and removing the clots. Hear Mr Carpenter and Dr Howard tell the story of how a leg attack was averted and the ability to walk was preserved.
