Penumbra’s peripheral thrombectomy platform is designed to remove clot from arteries and veins in the peripheral vasculature, and for the treatment of pulmonary embolism.

System Overview

Penumbra’s CAVT™ (Computer Assisted Vacuum Thrombectomy) platform, introduced in Europe in 2022, harnesses advanced computer technology designed to enable rapid restoration of blood flow in cases such as arterial thrombus, venous thrombus, and pulmonary embolism through a minimally invasive approach. The CAVT platform utilises the Penumbra ENGINE™ Aspiration Source, which delivers nearly pure, continuous vacuum (-29 inHg or -98.2 kPa) to our catheters, enabling effective thrombus removal in a wide range of vessel sizes.
