Vice President of Clinical Affairs

Dr. Sit is the Vice President of Clinical Affairs responsible for the clinical development of neurovascular devices at Penumbra. He has over 20 years of basic research and clinical trial experience in cardiovascular and neurovascular research, including previous employments at Johnson and Johnson, Baxter International and most recently, Boston Scientific. He received his PhD degree from Michigan State University, and completed his postdoctoral training at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School. At Boston Scientific, his focus has been on the clinical development of endovascular therapy for the treatment of intracranial aneurysms and the prevention of ischemic stroke attributable to atherosclerosis. Dr. Sit was the Program Manager for the recently completed WingspanTM Trial, which served as the basis for worldwide approval of the first self-expanding nitinol stent for the prevention of ischemic stroke attributable to cerebral atherosclerotic disease.
