Arani Bose, M.D.

Chairman, Founder and Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Bose is the Director of Stroke Research at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. Prior to that he was an Assistant Professor of Radiology and Neurology at the New York University School of Medicine, where he also had a clinical practice. While at NYU, he founded Smart Therapeutics, Inc., a medical device company focused on devices for neuro-intervention. At Smart Therapeutics, Dr. Bose developed the Neuroform Stent for the treatment of intracranial aneurysms and the Wingspan Stent for the treatment of intracranial atherosclerosis as well as led their respective international clinical trials that resulted in approval of both devices by the US FDA. Smart Therapeutics was sold to Boston Scientific in 2002. He is certified by both the American Board of Radiology and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Bose is a senior member of the American Academy of Neurology, the Society for Neurointerventional Surgery and the World Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology. Dr. Bose has authored numerous patents, articles and book chapters in the field of Neuroscience and Neurointervention. Dr. Bose received his medical training at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Yale University and the New York University Medical Center. He received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University.
